TaleGarden ("the App") is a parent-controlled children's story and audiobook app published by 21DigitalAI. This policy explains what information the App processes, why it is used, where it is stored, and the choices available to parents and guardians.
The App does not require a child or parent to create a named online account. The following information is stored primarily in the App's private storage on the device:
Child profile display names are not sent to our servers. Parents can edit profiles and can delete profile-specific data from within the App. Removing the App deletes its local data, subject to the device platform's backup and restoration behavior.
The App communicates with TaleGarden services to provide its catalog, protected audio, downloads, and membership features. These services may receive:
We use this information only to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App, deliver requested content, and verify subscription access. We do not use child profile information for targeted advertising.
If production diagnostics are enabled, the App may send limited technical event and error information using a pseudonymous installation identifier. Diagnostic processing is designed to exclude child names, raw audio or media URLs, store purchase proof, account credentials, secure-session material, and answers entered in the Parent Gate. The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
TaleGarden may offer an automatically renewing membership through Apple App Store or Google Play.
TaleGarden is designed for children to use with a parent or guardian. We intentionally minimize children's information: no child email address, phone number, precise location, contact list, or advertising identifier is required to use the App. Profile display names remain on the device and are not included in catalog requests or diagnostics.
Parents and guardians control profile creation and sensitive actions through the App's Parent Gate. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us outside the intended App flow, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where applicable.
We do not sell personal information. We may share the minimum information necessary with service providers that host or deliver TaleGarden's backend and media, with Apple or Google for store transactions, or when required by law. Providers may process information only to perform services for us and are expected to protect it appropriately.
Local profile, listening, and download information remains on the device until a parent removes it or the App is uninstalled. Server records are retained only as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the service, verify memberships, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Parents or guardians may request access to or deletion of personal information associated with an installation by contacting us. We may request limited information needed to identify the relevant installation while protecting other users.
Network communications use HTTPS/TLS. Session secrets are stored using platform-protected secure storage, protected media links are short-lived, and downloads are kept in app-private storage. No security measure is perfect, but we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information processed.
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where the App is used. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such processing.
We may update this privacy policy as the App or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
